𝐀𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝, 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐬.
While other kids played ball or climbed trees, I spent hours face down in the dirt, watching ants do their thing.
I watched them carry crumbs many times their size, marching in perfect lines toward some unseen destination.
Never questioning. Never hesitating. Just doing.
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞.
And I’d wonder:
𝐃𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞?
𝐎𝐫 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐠𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞?
𝐃𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦?
𝐎𝐫 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧?
Are they aware of my existence, or even that I am watching?
Years later, I still find myself asking similar questions in life and business.
We move fast. We carry heavy loads.
We follow paths. We chase targets.
But how often do we stop to reflect:
• Am I on the right trail?
• Is this burden still mine to carry?
• What if the mission needs a new direction?
And finally
𝐀𝐦 𝐈 𝐚 𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐮𝐳𝐳𝐥𝐞?
𝐎𝐫… 𝐚𝐦 𝐈 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐳𝐳𝐥𝐞?
Perspective changes everything.
Take the time to zoom out. Reflect. Realign.
What did you observe as a child that still shapes how you lead, live, or work today?
Drop it in the comments, I’d love to hear your story.
